HOUSTON – Bethune-Cookman Bowling finished up the Sixth Annual Kat Klash with a 15th place showing on Sunday, wrapping up its three-day stint at the Emerald Bowl. The event was hosted by Sam Houston State.

With Bethune-Cookman sitting 15th after the first two days of the tournament, the Cats took part in the bracket portion of the event on Sunday.

The matches were played in a best-of-seven Baker format.

The Wildcats began the day with a 4-3 hard-fought win over Southern, as the Cats used a 205-144 mark in the final game to collect the win and move on to the next round.

In the next match, B-CU faced Louisiana Tech, but fell to the Lady Techsters in a sudden-death roll-off to determine the winner. The Cats dropped the sudden death match, 97-61, and fell by way of a 4-3 decision.

The Cats finished up 15th in the tournament after taking down Southern for the second time on the afternoon, using a 4-2 victory over the Jaguars to conclude the tournament stay for the Maroon and Gold.

Host Sam Houston State won the team tournament title, defeating Nebraska in 4-2 fashion as part of the championship match. Arkansas State served as the third place competitor.

The next event for the Wildcats is the first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Southern Division of the year, hosted by Norfolk State. The two-day event takes place Nov. 12-13, in Norfolk, Virginia.
