DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Brandon Tabb scored 23 points in Bethune-Cookman's 76-73 loss to Coppin State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game Monday night.

Josh Treadwell scored 18 points as the Eagles (3-15 overall, 2-1 MEAC) handed the Wildcats (3-13,0-3) their sixth straight loss. Keith Shivers added 10.

Brandon Suggs' free throw gave Bethune-Cookman a 71-70 lead with 1:59 left. Coppin State took the lead on a Chas Brown dunk, then got two free throws from Shivers to make it to 74-71 with 1:25 left.

Reggie Baker brought Bethune-Cookman back to 74-73 on two free throws with 13 seconds to play, but two Treadwell free throws gave the Eagles a 76-73 lead with 13 seconds to play.

Coppin State expanded its 35-30 halftime lead to 43-33 early in the second half, but the Wildcats worked back to take a 57-56 lead on a Tabb three-pointer with 8:25 left.  Reggie Baker gave the Wildcats a 64-60 lead on two free throws with 6:05 left.

Quinton Forrest had 20 points for the Wildcats and Baker 16.

The Wildcats travel to South Carolina State Saturday.

NOTES:    This was Forrest's third 20 point game of the season... Diamante Lewis matched his season high of 8 assists ...The Wildcats made their first 7 free throws and finished 17-25 from the line....This was Baker's third straight game in double figures and seventh in the last eight games.
