Miranda White each had nine kills as Bethune-Cookman downed Savannah State 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-18) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division match Friday afternoon in Historic Moore Gym.
Jefferson had 10 digs while Neely and White two blocks each as the Wildcats (9-11 overall, 6-0 MEAC) snapped a three-match losing streak and remained atop the Southern Division. Setter
Phalen Clark posted 35 assists and 14 digs.
Oneillia Fuller led Savannah State (3-21,1-6) with 8 kills.
Alana Handy, filling in for
Rechez Lindsay at libero, posted 12 digs.
After pulling away from a 12-12 tie to take first set, Bethune-Cookman scored the first eight points of the second set on an
Alondra Bautista service run. The Wildcats had leads of 20-10 and 23-12 in the second set.
The Wildcats used a 4-0 run in the third to pull away from a 12-11 lead.
Bethune-Cookman hosts South Carolina State Sunday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
