LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman's
Daniel Kiptoo and
Xavier Walton posted top ten finishes Saturday at the 21
st Annual Disney Cross Country Classic presented by New Balance.
Kiptoo, a junior from Kenya, clocked a time of 26 minutes, 28.3 seconds on the 8K Wide World of Sports course. He was seventh overall and the first Division I finisher.
Walton, a junior from Titusville, Fla., was tenth overall and third among Division I runners with his time of 26:44.9.
"Good outing for those two. They are gradually building their conference in preparation for a very tough conference championships this year," B-CU Head Track Coach
Donald Cooper said of Kiptoo and Walton. "They both are running very well and the other members of the team are progressing as well."
Team-wise, Bethune-Cookman was fourth of the five Division I teams. Stetson won the team Division I competition while Wingate won the 14-team non-Division I competition. James Ngandu of Tiffin (Ohio) was the individual champion at 24:21.3.

In the women's competition, Bethune-Cookman was eighth of the eighth Division I teams. Sherilen Gebretsadik was the individual champion with a 5K time.
Tatyana Hodnett paced the Wildcat women with a time of 20.32.1, finishing 34
th in Division I and 67
th overall
