Not only did
Dominic Harper set himself apart from the field at the JDL College Dual Meet Madness Sunday in Winston-Salem, N.C., he set himself apart from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference as well.
The Bethune-Cookman junior cleared a career-best  14 feet, 11 inches to win the Pole Vault Sunday that also put atop the MEAC performers so far during the indoor season. Harper won the event at the MEAC outdoor championships last spring and was second at last year's indoor championships.
The busy weekend for the Wildcat track team saw them take 12 victories at the JDL Dual Meet and a  strong performance at the Patriot Games hosted by George Mason, which featured several Wildcat qualifying for the MEAC meet in the pentathlon and heptathlon.
It was a good weekend for the Wildcats in the Weight Throw:
Sidney Holston's throw of 62'6 3/4 also set a MEAC best and was the 63rd best throw in the nation so far this season while
Akassja White turned in a career best of 56'4"

Tiara Williams edged by John Hopkins' Maya Hammonds for the pentathlon championship;

Alexus Harris finished third, fourth, sixth, ninth and tenth, respectively. The heptathlon saw
Tyson Wright and
Brent Heholt finish third and sixth.
