BALTIMORE -- Angel Golden scored 19 points, and
Chasimmie Brown posted a 12-point, career-high 18-rebound double-double as Bethune-Cookman rallied for a 64-57 overtime victory over Morgan State Monday.
The Lady Wildcats (21-4 overall, 13-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) trailed 54-48 with 1:41 remaining in regulation, but freshman
Brianna Battle sank consecutive three-pointers to force overtime.
Ashanti Hunt (11 points, six rebounds) broke open a 57-57 overtime tied with four straight points, then Brown made a lay-up and Battle a clinching free throw as B-CU held the Bears (14-12,7-6) scoreless the final 3:43.
Emily Williams also scored 11 as Bethune-Cookman, ranked 25th in the College Insider Mid-Major Poll, won its 13rd straight and 23rd consecutive regular season conference game dating back to last season.
Golden single-handedly outscored Morgan State 9-3 in the final 1:01 of the first half as Bethune-Cookman opened up a 32-29 halftime lead.
Williams scored six of B-CU's nine first points of the third quarter as the Lady Wildcats took a 40-31 lead with 6:06 remaining in the third quarter, but Morgan State closed the gap to 41-38 entering the final quarter.
Morgan State used a 10-0 run to turn a 48-44 deficit into a 54-48 lead before Battle hit her two shots.
Tykyrah Williams led Morgan State with 17, while Lexus Spears double-doubled with 15 points and 16 rebounds.
Bethune-Cookman meets Savannah State at 2 p.m. Saturday. It's Senior Day, and Williams and
Lyndsey Edwards will be honored in pre-game ceremonies.
