SOPHOMORE SEASON (2019):  NAMED THE 2019 MID-EASTERN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE YEAR: 
Appeared in 48 games, started 39 with an overall record of 15-22 and 3.50 ERA...In conference play, was 9-2 with seven shutouts and 1.94 ERA...Her nine shutouts led the MEAC and was also 20th in the nation...Led MEAC in strikeouts with 168... Threw Two No-Hitters, the first time a BCU pitcher has done that since Lauren McCoy in 2004 ... First was at North Carolina Central on 4/16 series finale, walking two and striking out two in BCU's first no-no since Shanel Tolbert in 2014..That helped her earn MEAC Pitcher Of The Week honors ... Second was against Coppin State in MEAC tournament opener, BCU's first-ever in the tourney...Threw a one-hitter in 3-1 victory over Kansas that gave Laura Watten her 700th coaching victory ... Fired a one-hit shutout in conference opener against Savannah State...Did not give up a run in 14 innings while picking up three wins at South Carolina State ... Scattered two hits in 5-0 win against FAMU in series opener
Had a pair of 10-strikeout games, one vs. South Carolina State and other vs. Savannah State ... Went 3-7 from the plate in doubleheader at Stetson... Recovered from 1-0 loss against FAMU on MEAC championship Saturday to get win in 11-5 championship game; three runs kept the Rattlers ...at bay after BCU blew game open with six-run third ...r

FRESHMAN SEASON (2018): Named the 2018 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Year… Finished the year with the lowest earned run average (3.32) on the Wildcats squad – the ninth-lowest in the conference… Used a record of 13-11 across her freshman campaign… Her 13 total wins was the fifth-most in the conference… Worked a team-high 158.1 innings on the season – the ninth-highest in the MEAC in that department… Saw action in 34 games, making a start in 28 of those contests in the pitcher’s circle… Her 34 appearances were the ninth-most in the league, while her 28 starts were the second-most in that category… Combined for one shutout and collected another by herself… Fanned a team second-most 66 batters… At the dish, earned a .278 batting average with 22 hits in 79 official at-bats… Scored four runs… Recorded a .380 slugging percentage with five (5) doubles and one home run… Powered in 19 RBIs… Grabbed a .322 on-base percentage… Stone one base … Tallied a .986 fielding percentage with 18 putouts and 55 assists… Worked a no-decision in her first career start, tossing three innings against Boston (Feb. 10)… Finished a season-high matching 3-for-4 at the dish with two RBIs against LIU Brooklyn (Feb. 16)… Produced a season-high four RBIs against Stetson (Feb. 17) with her first career grand slam… In that same game against the Hatters, she registered her first career win in the pitcher’s circle with five innings worked, allowing five runs (three earned) on seven hits and two strikeouts… Went 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of RBIs and three assists on the defensive side of things against Drexel (March 3)… Went six innings in the circle against Drexel with one run allowed on five hits scattered… Delivered her third collegiate win with 6.2 innings tossed against Drexel (March 6), giving up just one run on four hits and picking up four strikeouts… Tossed a season-high eight innings in a winning effort against Iona (March 9), fanning two batters in a 6-4 Wildcats victory… Toed the rubber for 3.2 innings in a winning performance at home to George Mason (March 13) with four strikeouts in an 11-3 decision in favor of the Maroon and Gold… Also had a season-high tying 3-for-4 day with three RBIs and two (2) doubles in the second game of a doubleheader versus North Carolina A&T (March 30)… Picked up six strikeouts in four innings of work, adding a win with two runs allowed on five hits in the 18-2 decision over South Carolina State (April 14)… Produced a season-best seven strikeouts in a 4-1 win over Coppin State (May 9) in her Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament debut, allowing just one run on three hits in a seven-inning, complete-game performance… Collected the win in the MEAC Tournament title game over Florida A&M (May 12), tallying a pair of strikeouts and allowing two earned runs on five hits scattered across 6.1 innings worked in the circle… Toed the rubber for 2.2 innings against top-seeded Florida (May 18) in the NCAA Gainesville [Fla.] Regional despite accepting the loss against the host Gators…
 
HIGH SCHOOL:  Prepped at St. Paul High School… Player her softball under Head Coach Dena Slye… Named First Team All-Del Rey League as a senior in 2017… Program Pitcher of the Year that same season… Helped her team to a third place league finish… Played second base and pitcher during her junior season… Second Team All-Del Rey League in 2016… Selected team Defensive Player of the Year… St. Paul HS finished second place in the league during her junior campaign… Team advanced to the first round of the California State playoffs… Helped her squad to a Del Rey League title as a sophomore… CIF Southern Section Champions and State Champions in 2014 during her freshman year… Named Second Team All-Del Rey in 2015… Member of the honor roll all four years in high school… President of the Business Club as a junior and senior…
 
PERSONAL: Full name is Alexis Ruby Bermudez… Birth date is November 28… Majoring in Elementary Education… Away from the softball field, she enjoys playing volleyball or going to the beach with friends… Chose to attend Bethune-Cookman because she grew up attending a small high school, and stepping onto the BCU campus felt like a home away from home… Her favorite sports memory is winning the Triple Crown Tournament in Reno, Nevada with only nine players and having to play 13 games in five days… Pregame superstitions include singing a lot… Kiki Hernandez is her favorite athlete because he is a utility player that works hard to earn a spot on the field and plays wherever needed… Favorite team is the Los Angeles Dodgers… Favorite movie series is The Fast & The Furious… Favorite television show is Grey’s Anatomy… Favorite book is Flowers in the Attic… Most prized possession is her blanket…
