SAVANNAH, Ga. – Bethune-Cookman returned to action after a two-week layoff with a 7-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference victory at Savannah State Tuesday.
In their first match since a 4-3 win over Marist on March 19, the Wildcats (13-8 overall, 3-1 MEAC) posted their third straight win and assured themselves both a winning regular season record and a berth in the MEAC tournament April 19-21 in Raleigh, N.C.
Gaby Chinchilla continued two streaks with her victory over Andrea Pavlovic at No. 2 and her No. 1 doubles victory with Shereen Peterson-Paul. Chinchilla has now won seven straight singles matches and six in doubles.
Chinatsu Kajiwara won her third consecutive match with a No. 1 singles decision, and Laura Rodriguez improved to 6-0 with her No. 6 decision.
B-CU faces Georgia Southern in a non-conference match Wednesday.
