DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Bethune-Cookman University softball remains on the road for its four-straight tournament weekend as the Wildcats travel south, participating in the three-day Felsberg Invitational hosted by Florida International in Miami, Florida.
The tournament field in includes the host FIU Panthers, B-CU, Michigan State and Ole Miss.
The Cats open with Ole Miss on Friday at 2 p.m., followed by a nightcap with the host Panthers at 7 p.m. B-CU opens Saturday versus the Rebels during a 1:30 p.m. first-pitch, finishing with FIU at 6:30 p.m., and wrapping-up tournament action Sunday at 3 p.m. against the Panthers.

Wildcat Facts
Junior Sophia Ortega is batting a team-high .326 with 15 hits including four doubles and one homer.
Sophomore's Bailey Conner (2-1) and Sabrina Anguiano (2-9) have split the Wildcat victories on the mound while Conner boosts a 4.09 ERA and Anguiano a 4.69. The duo has fanned a total of 46 batters with 12 and 34 respectively.
Rookie Nereyda Gutierrez and Ortega earning All-Tournament Honors at the Charleston Challenge.
Ortega was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week while Anguiano earned MEAC Pitcher of the Week and Gutierrez Rookie of the Week (Feb. 9).
Scouting the Opponents
FIU: FIU comes into the tournament with an overall record of 11-6 and with four regular starters hitting above .300 on the year. Stephanie Texeiara paces the squad with a .513 average to go along with five home runs, 20 RBI and has drawn 13 walks on the season.
Ole Miss: The Rebels enter the weekend on a five-game winning streak after finishing in first place at the Battle at the Beach hosted by Coastal Carolina two weeks ago and picking up wins over Delaware and Memphis this past weekend.
Freshman outfielder Elantra Cox leads the Rebel offense with a .576 average on the season to rank third in the Southeastern Conference in batting average. She is also fourth in steals, going 11-for-13 at the top of the lineup for the Rebels and boasts a .606 on base percentage that is among the tops in the league.
