In the nightcap of the day's doubleheader, B-CU jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning ... only to see the Tigers battle back in the bottom-half of the frame.
Krystal Palmer started things off for Savannah State with a hit, and she was eventually brought in to score with the help of left fielder Danielle Williams for the 2-1 score in favor of the `Cats.
The Wildcats eventually unfasten the hinges on the storm drain to open the flood gates with a nine-run inning in the third.
Leadoff batter Tameika Jonas scored twice and collected back-to-back hits, while teammate Holly Bussey picked up one of her hits in the game to collect an RBI that pushed the B-CU lead out to 11-1 after three innings in the book.
The `Cats scored another five insurance runs in the fourth inning before the game was ended after five in a run-rule contest, 16-1.
Bussey finished 3-for-4 in the nightcap with two runs scored and three RBI. Junior first baseman Brandi Holley also had a solid second game with two hits in four trips to the plate, as well as scoring once and driving in one run.
SSU's Pierce finished 2-for-2 in the second game.
The loss was tacked onto the arm of SSU starting pitcher Krystal Palmer who dropped her mark to 1-18 for the year, while B-CU's Lanaya Jenkins collected both wins today ... including the second game to move her out to 5-13 for the season. Jenkins gave up just three (3) hits in the second game and one run (unearned).
The `Cats will hit the diamond once again next Thursday when they host Cornell University to Sunnyland Park in Daytona Beach. The game is set for a 2 p.m. start in a normal doubleheader.
