Bethune-Cookman University fought hard in women's tennis action on Friday afternoon, but in the end it was Florida A&M University walking away with a 7-0 victory in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference match-up at the FAMU Tennis Courts in Tallahassee, Fla.
The day was started off by FAMU taking two-of-three matches in doubles play. The B-CU (3-13, 1-3 MEAC) tandem of Jeneice Ward and Chanetra Brown fell by a count of 8-2 to FAMU's Latreece Olagbegi and Sarah Brinkley at the No. 2 doubles spot. B-CU's team of Andrea Paez led at the No. 1 position before the Rattlers earned the decisive point at the No. 3 spot.
In singles play, FAMU (2-9) was too much at all positions as the Wildcats were unable to muster up a win.
Musilova took her opponent--Rachel Pye, to the limit at the No. 1 position before eventually falling 7-6, 5-7, 12-10. For Musilova, it was the third time this year she has went to a third set against her opposition.
B-CU will hit the courts again tomorrow, Apr. 5 when they play Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) foe Southern University.
