DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Despite leading most of the first half, the Lady Wildcats fell behind late in the first half and never recovered. The game began to feel out of reach, but B-CU mounted a late comeback in the game on the heels of an 8-2 run, bringing the difference to three with just over a minute remaining. However, the Lady Wildcats fell short of tying up the score and the Eagles of Coppin State defeated B-CU 67-58.
The opening moments of the game came as a shootout, with the teams just trading scores. However, the Lady Wildcats broke out of that rhythm near the midpoint of the half and pushed out to a 5 point lead. B-CU pushed ahead, with CSU nipping most of the half. With 6:55 remaining, CSU forced the fifth tie of the game and took off on a 13-2 run, leaving B-CU scoreless for the final four minutes of the half, and taking a 30-19 lead to the locker room at the half.
Coming out of halftime, the Eagles remained hot, leading by as much as 17, and keeping the lead at double-digits until there were two minutes remaining in the game. Led by a 3-pointer by Jasmine Daniels and timely steals by Demetria Frank, the Lady Wildcats took off on an 11-0 run to bring the deficit down to just three points. From there, the Eagles felt the Lady Wildcats coming up and started making good shots and finishing on free throws, putting the game out of reach, with a final score of 67-58.

The next game for the Lady Wildcats is 12:00 p.m., Monday, Jan. 19 at Moore Gymnasium as they face Morgan State before heading out on the road for two games next week.
