Tennis Teams At University of North Florida Invitational

Oct. 12, 2009

Jacksonville, Florida -

The B-CU men's and women's tennis teams competed in the University of North Florida Invitational last weekend on the UNF campus.

B-CU's Shereen Peterson-Paul won her first round match 7-6 (4), 6-3 and lost in the round of 16's in three sets (6-1, 4-6, 6-0) to the eventual singles champion, Brooke Pletcher of Charleston Southern.

"The heat and humidty was a factor all weekend for all the players," said B-CU Coach Trey Bogue. "Shereen played her best tennis of the fall taking the event champion Brooke Pletcher to three sets. Shereen will take that good effort with her and she played well."

The highlight for Coach Trey Bogue and men's teams were Yannick and Kip Jackson reaching the main draw "B" doubles finals losing 8-3 in the finals. And Marc Misanovic reaching the semi's winning two matches in his singles consolation bracket.

B-CU competed with some top Division I teams at the Invitational: UNF, Florida Gulf Coast, JU, FAMU,Mercer, East Tennessee State,Samford, Troy of Alabama and Belmont all competed in the three-day men's and women's event.
