B-CU Now 6-4 With Win Over Carver Bible College - Tough Game Wednesday Night Hosting JU, 7 P.M
The Wildcats blitzed Carver College with a 32-8 run in the first nine minutes (including 20 unanswered points) of the the second half to key a 99-55 home win Monday night at Moore Gymnasium. B-CU led by seven 35-28, at halftime. The Wildcats (6-4) then out-scored Carver Bible College (0-16) 64-27 in the second half.
"We played with more intensity and defensive pressure and urgency in the second half," said B-CU Head Coach Cliff Reed. "I challenged them at halftime and we came out defensively and got out running off defensive stops."
C. J. Reed led the Wildcats in scoring with 25 points (18 in the second half) and all 12 players who played for B-CU scored points. Kene Anusionwu missed the game with a knee injury and is day-to-day for Wednesday's game vs. Jacksonville.
Stanley Elliott scored 12 points and freshmen Javoris Bryant and Kevin Dukes scored 11 points each.
B-CU hosts Jacksonville University Wednesday night, 7 p.m. at Moore Gymnasium in a re-match of last year's 'Cats overtime win in Jacksonville.
"They (Jacksonville) will come to our house and want revenge," said Coach Reed. "We will have to play well and be ready to play an athletic team who will pressure us and play us tough like all the others we have been playing."
