Lady Wildcats Downed in Semi-Finals to Defending MEAC Champions

Raleigh, N.C. - The Lady Wildcats tennis team defeated the Lady Pirates, 4-1, on Friday morning at the Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference championships at Millbrook Tennis Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Bethune Cookman's Stacey Lopez put together a strong match at No. 3 versus Hampton's player Barenese Myers and claimed both sets, 7-5, 6-3.
Followed by Lopez victory was a point gained at No. 4 singles with senior Eva Hankova fighting hard to gain a win 6-2, 7-5 over Maria Ycaza of Hampton University.
The final singles victory needed for the Lady Wildcats was brought in by senior Jeneice Ward over Hampton's Janelle Small 6-4,6-0.
The Lady Wildcats' doubles teams were victorious at No. 1 with duo Stacey Lopez and Jeneice Ward triumphing over Tabita Daolio and Janelle Small 8-5.

Raleigh, N.C. - The MEAC champions South Carolina State University women's tennis team defeated the Lady Wildcats, 4-0, on Saturday morning April 18in the semi-finals of the Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference championships. The Lady Bulldogs went on to take the title as MEAC champions for yet another year.
“All the credit goes to South Carolina, as MEAC champions they have consistently been the big kids on the block, “said Head Coach Trey Bogue.
