VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman softball received their fourth conference honor of the 2010 season, Monday, as Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) officials named Cesley Tafoya MEAC Player of the Week.
B-CU split the week's games, falling to UCF in Orlando, but grabbing the big home win over North Florida at Sunnyland Park. The sophomore second baseman from Oxnard, Calif. was responsible for a large piece of the B-CU scoring pie in the week, making each hit count. Tafoya hit .333 from the plate with two hits including two home runs and seven RBI. She also posted seven assists and one putout for the week on defense.
With the cancellation of Monday's double-header with South Florida due to field conditions following the storms, the Wildcats get a chance to rest up and prepare for the big MEAC Southern division matchup with conference rival Florida A&M. The Wildcats face the Rattlers on Friday in Tallahassee for 2:30 p.m. game on ESPNU (Bright House Networks channel 100 and 1331 in HD).
