DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Bethune-Cookman gave new meaning to "turning two" Monday when Allison Garcia were named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player Of The Week and Pitcher Of The Week, respectively.

Hinds posted a .357 batting average from the plate with seven RBI, one home run and three doubles as B-CU (22-22) shut out UCF and swept a three-game series with North Carolina Central to extend its winning streak to seven. The senior leadoff hitter scored six runs, stole three bases and walked once.

For the season, Hinds leads the MEAC with 42 runs scored and is currently hitting .284 with 26 RBI.

Garcia, who garnered MEAC Player Of The Week honors on April 4, gave up just two unearned runs in 19 innings last week as the senior shut out UCF and was within one out of blanking North Carolina Central on Sunday. She struck out 13 and improved to 16-9 on the season with a 2.80 ERA.

At the plate, Garcia had a three-run homer in the second game against NCCU and finished the week with five RBI. She  leads the Wildcats with seven homers and 38 RBI.
