WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Bethune-Cookman registered its first victory of the 2012 season Sunday with a 9-0 decision over Northwood, ranked 29th nationally in the NAIA.

Two B-CU doubles teams, Gaby Chinchilla and Chinatsu Kajiwara at No. 2 and Katarina Szaboova and Gvantsa Robakidze at No. 1 concluded opening weekend undefeated as B-CU improved to 1-1.

"Another solid doubles performance, but improvement in singles play as well," said B-CU coach Tim Pleasant. "We took all nine matches with confidence."

B-CU travels to Florida Gulf Coast and Webber International this weekend.
