DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Adrien Coleman's 23 points led five
Bethune-Cookman players in double figures as the Wildcats downed Florida
Christian 102-51 Monday night in historic Moore Gymnasium.
The Wildcats (5-8) reached 100 points for the first time
since 2003 when they beat Morgan State 104-103 in double overtime in the
Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament. The last time Bethune-Cookman
scored 100 in regulation was a 111-81 win over Norfolk State in 2000.
Paul Scotland, Kevin Dukes and Brandon Stewart each scored
14 as Bethune-Cookman posted its largest margin of victory since a 128-72
decision over Morris Brown in 1996. Alex Smith posted a double-double of 10
points and a career-high 14 rebounds.
Bethune-Cookman jumped out to leads of 6-0, 12-1 and 23-3 on a dunk from Coleman.
Bethune-Cookman took a 48-17 lead into halftime and used a 14-4 run over the first 4 minutes of the second half to push its advantage to 62-21. Coleman and Smith combined for 10 points during the spurt.
Kenny Blanc led Florida Christian (9-5) with 16.
The Wildcats host Youngstown State Friday night at 7 p.m.

NOTES: Florida Christian's 51 points was a season-low for
Wildcat opponents… Coleman also had seven assists and seven rebounds in his fIfth
20-point game of the season and ninth of
his career … Dukes now has 32 consecutive games with a three-pointer; he also
had seven assists … For the second straight game, every Wildcat scored with eight
players scoring at least eight points … Ricky Johnson made his first start of
the season … Javoris Bryant had four blocks … B-CU had a season-high 51
rebounds, its highest single-game total since January 13, 2007, when it grabbed
52 boards in a 57-52 win over North Carolina A&T.
