ORLANDO, Fla. - Bethune-Cookman dropped a 5-2 loss to nationally-ranked Fordham Saturday evening.
Ranked 78th by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, the Rams (12-3) needed a pair of three-set tiebreaker victories in singles and a come-from-behind victory in doubles to down the Wildcats (14-4).
"We had the major upset sitting on our rackets," said B-CU coach Tim Pleasant.
Stacey Speller and Gvantsa Robakidze registered wins at No. 3 and No. 6 singles.
Speller and Shareen Peterson-Paul won at No. 3 doubles, but Fordham claimed the doubles point.
