CLEARWATER, Fla. - After managing just one run and two hits Friday, Bethune-Cookman's bats returned Saturday as the Wildcats registered 17 runs in a split of game at the USF Under Armour Invitational, including an 11-2 run rule victory over Quinnipac.

Kelsey Rodney, Sabrina Ferguson and Karina Romero each drove in two runs as the Wildcats (4-15) snapped a six-game losing streak.

Romero's two-run single highlighted a three-run first inning. B-CU upped its lead to 6-0 after two, then Rodney's bases-loaded single triggered a five-run third that included a Ferguson double. Rodney scored three runs and had two hits, as did Calesha Shelley and Ferguson.

Shanel Tolbert had her shutout broken in the fifth, but B-CU still had enough runs for the early victory.

Against Bowling Green, B-CU capitalized on two errors and took a 4-0 lead on an RBI single from Rodney, a Michelle Banuelos-Smith sacrifice fly, a Romero single and a Lara Reese RBI single.

B-CU scored in the third on a Banuelos-Smith RBI single and the fifth on a Reese RBI single, but BGSU stormed back with four runs each in the fifth and sixth.

B-CU concludes the tournament Sunday at 9:30 a.m. against Toledo.
