Bethune-Cookman's 2012-2013 tennis season opened Friday with two victories at the Embry-Riddle open and another at the Bedford Cup hosted by the University of Florida.
The Wildcat men's team had a doubles victory at each site.
In Gainesville, Santiago Lobelo and Diego Garavito defeated Florida Atlantic's Sean Bacha and John Nowak 8-2 in the opening round. The Wildcat duo later fell to fourth-seeded Andres Bucaro and /Benjamin of Florida State by a count of 8-5.
At Embry-Riddle, Juan Varon and Seve Day posted an 8-5 victory over Ari Davis and Jason Alabaster of Rollins.
The lone singles victory went to sophomore Chinatsu Kajiwara, who defeated Magda Riutort of Florida Southern 6-4,6-4 to advance in the Gold Flight.
Action continues at both sites through Sunday.
