ORLANDO - The Bethune-Cookman
women's tennis team opens its 2013 spring schedule against UCF Friday at 2 p.m.
The Lady Wildcats are coming off a 20-win spring 2012
campaign and a fall season that included winning the HBCU National Tennis
Championship team title in September. B-CU was voted to finish second in the
Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division preseason poll.
Shereen Peterson-Paul, who went 18-7 in singles play and
17-6 in doubles play last spring and won her flight at HBCU Nationals, returns
for her senior season and is joined by returning players Gaby Chinchilla, Chinatsu Kajiwara and Laura
Rodriguez.
B-CU's home opener will be a Feb. 1 doubleheader against
Florida College of Sarasota and Palm Beach Atlantic at City Island Courts in
Daytona Beach.
