@BCUhoops Falls 82-67 To FIU

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman's seven-game home winning streak ended Thursday as FIU posted an 82-67 decision in Historic Moore Gymnasium.

Tymell Murphy (24 points, 11 rebounds) and Rakeem Buckles (17 points, rebounds) each double-doubled as the Panthers (6-2) won their sixth straight.

Daquan Brown and Ricky Johnson each scored 12 points for the Wildcats (2-3) and Malik Jackson added 11.

FIU scored the final six points of the first half and the first five of the second to build a 46-29 lead on Jason Boswell's three-pointer with 19:18 to play.

The Wildcats scored the next nine points to cut it to 46-38 on a Jackson three-pointer, and got as close as 48-43 on a Maurice Taylor three-pointer with 15:07 left, but the Panthers scored the next five points. B-CU couldn't get within nine the rest of the way.

Jimenez Porcher and Jason Boswell also were in double figures for FIU with 14 and 13, respectively.

Jackson and Brown each had eight rebounds for the Wildcats.

B-CU now begins a 12-game road trip, starting Monday at New Mexico State.
