@BCUHoops Lead Fades In 65-60 Loss To UNC

GREELEY, Colo – Northern Colorado erased a 24-point second half deficit to down Bethune-Cookman 65-60 Saturday night in the Wildcats' final game at the Colorado State Challenge.

Mikel Trapp scored 20 points – his second 20-point game in as many nights – as the Wildcats dropped their fifth straight. Clemmye Owens added 13 and Maurice Taylor 11.

Bethune-Cookman (2-7)  led 48-24 on two Daquan Brown free throws with 15:59 remaining and 59-41 on a Travis Elliott-lay-up with 7:51 left. The Wildcats managed just one free throw after that.

Tevin Svihovec sank two free throws with eight seconds left give the Bears a 61-60 lead. After a steal, Tate Unrugh added two free throws and Tim Huskisson a lay-up for Northern Colorado to seal the victory. Svihovec led Northern Colorado (3-2) with 20.

The Wildcats hit eight three-pointers in the first half -- B-CU's first 15 points were all three-pointers -- as they took a 37-21halftime lead.

B-CU faces Stetson Tuesday at 7 p.m.

NOTES: Trapp is the first player to register consecutive 20 point games since CJ did it against NC Central and Florida A&M in the final two games of the 2010-11 regular season ... Trapp's six rebounds was a career-high....The 37-21 halftime lead was B-CU's largest of the season...B-CU has lost 12 straight road games dating back to last season ... This is the fifth consecutive year B-CU has managed just two November wins. The 2009-10 team is the only team to win three games since the program went Division I.
