North Florida tied the game in the bottom half of the inning, then scored four in the fourth to take a 5-1 lead.
In the seventh, Rodney scored on a throwing error and Melissa Berouty scored on an Aurelia Gamch single as B-CU closed to 5-3.
Florida State scored 15 runs in the first inning en route to a run-rule decision over the Wildcats in the second game.
Simone Ceasar had two hits in each game, and finished the four-game Invitational with a .500 average (6-12) while Gamch batted .417(5-12) and Michelle Banuelos-Smith had two RBI.
