Louisville, Ohio State Dispatch Wildcats at JU

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Bethune-Cookman dropped two games Friday at the Jacksonville University Invitational.

The Wildcats (0-6) opened with an 8-1 setback to No. 17 Louisville before dropping an 11-0 decision to Ohio State.

Against Louisville, B-CU closed to 2-1 in the fourth when Simone Ceasar scored on Shamaria Engram's single, but the Cardinals pulled away with six runs in the sixth.

Kelsey Rodney and Wanda Darby also had hits for the Wildcats in the first game.

Ohio State jumped out to a 2-0 first inning lead and would score in four of the six innings, including a four-run sixth.

Michelle Banuelos-Smith had B-CU's lone hit, a third-inning double. Samantha Gale struck out eight.

B-CU faces Ohio State again at 9:45 a.m. Saturday and Stony Brook at 2 p.m.
