DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - After managing just six first-half points, Bethune-Cookman dropped a 61-27 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference setback to Howard Monday night in Moore Gym.

B-CU made just one field goal in the opening half - a Kiki Devane lay-up remaining with 4:27 remaining. Howard also forced 16 Lady Wildcat turnovers in opening up a 3-6 halftime lead.

Jasmine Evans led the Lady Wildcats with eight points, followed by Terrenisha Hollis with six. Shakeyia Coyler grabbed 11 rebounds.

The Lady Wildcats host South Carolina State Saturday at 2 p.m.

HEAD COACH VANESSA BLAIR

"We reallly didn't shoot the ball well tonight and we didn't play with a lot of energy."

"We turned the ball over too much. We had 16 in the first half. You can't do that against the team picked to finish #1 in the conference. You just take away shots from yourself. I thought we killed that bug but it showed its ugly head again tonight."

"We just have to come out and play with energy no matter if we are making shots or not. We also have to take care of the basketball."
