The Wildcats (8-28) outhit the Dolphins (27-10) 6-5 but stranded 10 baserunners as they dropped their third one-run loss to Jacksonville this season.
B-CU loaded the bases in the first after Simone Ceasar singled, Kelsey Rodney doubled and Michelle Banuelos-Smith walked with two outs, but the Wildcats couldn't score.
In the sixth, Banuelos-Smith led off with a single, stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch while Shamaria Engram and pinchitter Breanna Chavez drew walks for a bases-loaded situation.
Calesha Shelley and Aurelia Gamch each had a hit for the Wildcats. Shanel Tolbert scattered five hits, walked none and struck out two.
The Wildcats host South Carolina State for a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference series beginning Saturday.
