Skyhawks Slow @BCUhoops 74-56

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Tennessee-Martin used a late first-half run to take control and down
Bethune-Cookman 74-56 Tuesday in Moore Gymnasium.

Mikel Trapp gave the Wildcats a 26-25 lead on a jumper with 5:19 remaining, but the Skyhawks used a 13-2 run to close the half and take a 38-27 halftime lead.

In the second half, the Wildcats (2-4) closed to 45-36 on Clemmye Owens' 3-pointer with 14:13 to play. The Skyhawks (3-1) scored the next 13 points to take control.

Myles Taylor had 16 points and nine rebounds to lead Tennessee-Martin, while Marshun Newell added 15 and Twymond Howard posted 13 points and seven rebounds.

Trapp got off to a strong start, hitting his first three from behind the arc as the Wildcats stormed
out to a 16-9 lead eight minutes into the game.

Trapp led Bethune-Cookman with 11 points, followed by Denzel Dulin with 10. Owens and Troy Simmons each scored nine.

Bethune-Cookman plays at UCF Sunday at 6 p.m. in a ESPN3 televised game.

NOTES: B-CU now 0-4 when it scores 56 or less ...Trapp has led the team in scoring in four out of six games and has three straight double-digit point games... Quintin Brewer has led the team in rebounding in five out of six games; He had six Tuesday.
