DELAND,Fla. – Bethune-Cookman dropped two games at the Hatter Invitational Saturday, an 8-7 extra-inning loss to Elon and a 7-3 setback to host Stetson.
Calesha Shelley had four hits and Kaitlin Alamprese drove in three runs as the Wildcats took an early 4-0 lead against Elon.
In the second inning, B-CU took a 2-0 lead when Breanna Chavez drew a bases-loaded walk to score Bailey Connor while Sabrina Anguiano scored on Destinee Williams' single.
Alamprese's two-run single in the fourth scored Shelley and Williams to make it 4-0.
Elon extended the game with three runs in the seventh.
B-CU took a 7-4 lead when Shelley singled home pinch runner Cierra Banks and scored on an Alamprese single. Connor brought in Alamprese with a single.
Elon answered with four runs for the victory.
Connor, Anguiano and Shamaria Engram had RBI singles against Stetson.
B-CU and Stetson conclude the tournament Sunday at noon.
