DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman's Mina Matsuba has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player Of The Week, it was announced today.
The sophomore from Mie, Japan won both of her singles matches last week, posting a 6-4, 6-4 victory at the number one singles position in a non-conference single match against Georgia Southern. She also pulled out a victory over Ksenia Pronina of Iowa State 6-1, 6-3.
For the season, Matsuba is 6-2 in singles play and 4-2 in doubles with partner Maria Sablina.
B-CU (2-6) returns to action on Feb. 25, hosting Mount St. Mary's at 2 p.m. at City Island.
