DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Chastity René Taylor's 20 points led five B-CU players in double figures as the Lady Wildcats downed Florida A&M, 76-62, on Senior Day in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Wildcats (10-16 overall, 7-7 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) gave Head Coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis her first conference victory in the Ocean Center, and just the second overall. B-CU had lost its last eight games in the building.

Kayla Crawford had a career-high 15 rebounds as B-CU posted a season-high 53 boards as a team.

Taylor Houston scored 14 with nine rebounds, Kailyn Williams double-doubled with 13 points and 11 rebounds while Kendra Cooper and Jasmine Evans added 12 each. Evans also hit the glass hard, registering eight rebounds.

B-CU never trailed after a Houston three-pointer capped off a 7-0 run that gave the Lady Wildcats a 17-11 lead with 10:18 remaining in the first half.

The biggest B-CU lead in the first half came on a Houston lay-up with 5:50 remaining that made it before the Rattlers cut the halftime deficit to 35-26.

Taylor got to the line in the second half, making seven of nine attempts as B-CU gradually pulled away.

FAMU got as close as 38-32 before the Lady Wildcats controlled the next eight minutes and led 60-37 on two Williams free throws with 10:44 left. FAMU closed to 70-57 in the final two minutes, but B-CU kept them at bay.

Jasmine Grice had a game-high 27 for Florida A&M, now 14-13 and 8-6 in MEAC play.

It was the final home game for B-CU, which has won two straight and four of its last five. After a significant drought in the lopsided series, the Lady Wildcats have now won two of the last three against the Lady Rattlers.
