ORLANDO – Bethune-Cookman extended its winning streak to nine matches Thursday with wins over Chicago State and South Dakota at Sanlando Park.

The Lady Wildcats (12-7) downed Chicago State 6-1 while posting a 5-2 decision over a South Dakota team that beat them 4-3 last year.

Chinatsu Kajiwara remained unbeaten at No. 1 singles (6-0) and improved to 9-4 on the season with two victories Thursday. Mina Matsuba and Elizabeth Nyenwe each improved to 14-4 on the year. Maria Sablina reached .500 (8-8) on the year with  her third straight win.

In doubles play, the No. 1 doubles combo of Matsuba/Sablina improved to 12-3 with their seventh  straight win.

B-CU meets South Dakota State Friday at noon.
