JACKSONVILLE – Bethune-Cookman was swept by Jacksonville in a non-conference doubleheader Wednesday, 7-2 and 2-1.
In the opener, the Dolphins (18-28) scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth after the Wildcats (18-27) tied it when Kelsey Rodney scored on a Sabrina Anguiano hit by pitch and Kaitlin Alamprese scored on Melissa Berouty's fielder's choice.
In the nightcap, Calesha Shelley had three hits and scored B-CU's lone run in the first, leading off with a double and scoring on an Alamprese sacrifice fly. Jacksonville scored two in the third and held on for the win.
The Wildcats host Savannah State in a key Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference series this weekend beginning with a doubleheader Saturday.
