ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- Bethune-Cookman posted its two highest single-game run totals of the season Saturday as it swept host South Carolina State 9-1,10-4 in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division doubleheader.

The Wildcats (15-22,5-0 MEAC) extended their winning streak to a season-long five and defeated the Bulldogs (7-20,0-5) for the 21st and 22nd time in the past 23 meetings.

Kelsey Rodney went 3-4 with two doubles and two RBI for the Wildcats in the opener, while Calesha Shelly and Melissa Berouty also had two RBI.

B-CU jumped out to a 3-0 first inning lead on Bailey Conner's single followed Berouty's two-run double to left. The Wildcats scored five in the second, two on a Shelley double and on a Rodney double and a Kaitlin Alamprese single.

In the second game, Alamprese drove in three runs in an eight-run fifth inning that helped the Wildcats erase a 3-1 deficit.

Alamprese doubled home Rodney, then scored on a Conner single to tie the game at 3-3. Conner scored the go-ahead run on a Wanda Darby single. Shelley had an RBI single, then Alamprese closed the rally with a two-run single.

Sabrina Anguiano posted the win in both games. The freshman threw a six-hitter in the opening, and in the second game, recovered from a three-run first with five scoreless innings.

Rodney's three doubles gives her 36 for her career, tying her with Cesley Tafoya for tenth on the all-time doubles list.

Three-game series concludes Sunday.
