JONESBORO, Ga. – The Bethune-Cookman women enjoyed a perfect singles outing, and the Wildcat men weren't far behind on the first day of the HBCU National Tennis Championships.

Seeking their third consecutive championship, the Lady Wildcats won all 10 singles match before dropping their lone doubles match Thursday. All seven Wildcat individuals advanced to the quarterfinals and three doubles teams that earned first-round byes will be in the round of 16.

The Wildcat men won six of their eight opening day singles matches, advancing five to the quarterfinals. Similiar to the women, three doubles teams earned first-round byes.

Ancia Ifill, Gaby Chinchilla and Adel Musina remained unbeaten in Fall play with their Thursday victories.

Greg Almeida and Alvaro Barrera garnered their first wins of the Fall to highlight the Men's effort.
