DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman women's basketball dropped a Saturday afternoon match-up to crosstown foes, Stetson, falling 62-38 inside Moore Gym on Nov. 21.

A slow-start plagued the Wildcats after falling behind 11-5 in the first quarter.

After matching the Hatters 13 points in the second, B-CU trailed 24-18 heading into the locker room.

It was all Stetson in the final two quarters as the Hatters outscored the Wildcats 38-20 in the final two stanzas, taking the 62-38 victory from B-CU.

Redshirt freshmen Ashanti Hunt led the Wildcats offensively with ten points while rookie Chasimmie Brown added eight.  

On the defensive end Taylor Houston pulled down seven boards trailed by Kailyn Williams six.

Stetson was led by Brianti Saunders 21 points, nine boards and four steals.

The Wildcats return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 24 as B-CU hosts Edwards Waters at 7 p.m., inside Moore Gym.
