DURHAM, N.C. – Denzel Dulin scored a career-high 15 points, but Bethune-Cookman couldn't keep North Carolina Central from clinching its second straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference regular season championship with a 72-49 victory Saturday afternoon.

Jordan Parks scored 20 points to lead four Eagles (22-6 overall, 14-0 MEAC) in double figures as they pulled away from a 37-35 game early in the second half.

The Wildcats (10-19,6-8) made it a two-point game on Travis Elliott's lay-up with 19:15 remaining. However, the Eagles scored the next six points on an 11-1 run that opened up a 48-36 lead with 15:38 to play.

Bethune-Cookman never got it under double figures the rest of the game.

The Eagles led by as many as eight in the first half, but Bethune-Cookman got it down to 35-33 at halftime on a Ricky Johnson jumper at the buzzer.

Dulin, a junior for Queens, N.Y., was 5-10 from the field and also posted four rebounds and two steals.

Johnson was the only other Wildcat in double figures with 10. Elliott, Brandon Stewart and Quintin Brewer each added eight.

The Wildcats travel to North Carolina A&T Monday.
