Box Score PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — Mario Moody scored 20 points in Bethune-Cookman's 74-72 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference loss at Maryland-Eastern Shore Saturday.
Domique Elliott scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Devin Martin hit the winning shot to give the Hawks a victory in a game-that neither team led by more than eight points.
Martin hit his jumper with 29 seconds left and Jordan Potts missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Martin scored 11 points, and Bakari Copeland and Derrico Peck added 10 apiece for the Hawks (5-16, 2-4 MEAC), who shot 48 percent and led 34-33 at halftime.
"We let them shoot the ball inside," said B-CU Head Coach Gravelle Craig. "They were able to make plays late in the game."
Potts added 19 and Diamante Lewis 17 for the Wildcats, now 6-14 and 3-3.
Down 46-43, the Wildcats used an 11-0 run and led 54-46 on Lewis' 3 with 11:55 left.
Elliott tied it at 59 and the Hawks led 67-63 after his layup with 3:58 to go. Ahmad Frost's 3-pointer with 1:52 left gave the Hawks a 72-67 edge, but Potts made a three-pointer and then stole the ball from Elliott to set Lewis tying at 72 with two free throws.
Ricky Johnson added 14 points. Moody led the Wildcats with nine rebounds while Potts added seven assists.
