@BCUGridIron Places 21 on MEAC All-Academic Team

Wildcats Football wins on the field and in the classroom

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman Football placed a total of 21 student-athletes on the 2016 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Football All-Academic Team, announced by the MEAC Office from the league headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia.
 
The total of 21 student-athletes on this year's all-academic team for Bethune-Cookman is second in the MEAC, behind only Delaware State who placed a total of 28 student-athletes on this year's list.
 
The student-athletes recognized by the conference for the Maroon and Gold were as follows: Alfred Adams, Christopher Adams, Delwaun Beard, DeAndre Bozeman, Job Buissereth, Jamaal Burgess, Jonathan Cagle, Jarren Davis, Javaunie Francis, Jaylen Funches, Uriel Hernandez, Trevin Huff, Ja-Quan Lumas, Dazzie Morris, Zaraphon Only, Jamaruz Thompkins, Jarrett Tingler, Michael Westray, Milton Williams, Tony Williams and Davon Witherspoon.
 
The MEAC recognizes student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, including sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as transfer student-athletes, who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year.

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) begins its 47th year of intercollegiate competition heading into the 2016-17 academic school year. Located in Norfolk, Va., the MEAC is made up of 13 outstanding historically black institutions across the Atlantic coastline: Bethune-Cookman University, Coppin State University, Delaware State University, Florida A&M University, Hampton University, Howard University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina A&T State University, North Carolina Central University, Savannah State University and South Carolina State University.
