Box Score DURHAM, N.C. – Ricky Johnson scored 18 points in Bethune-Cookman's 90-66 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference loss to North Carolina Central Saturday afternoon.
Dante Holmes scored 22 points and Jeremiah Ingram 21 as the Eagles (9-15 overall, 4-6 MEAC) snapped the Wildcats' three-game winning streak. It was also North Carolina Central's seventh consecutive victory in the series.
The Wildcats (9-16,6-5) took a 28-27 lead on a Mario Moody free throw with 2:31 remaining in the first half, but Holmes connected on three straight three-pointers in an 11-0 run before Diamante Lewis' three-pointer cut it to a 38-31 halftime game.
North Carolina Central used a 13-2 run at the outset of the second half to pull away.
Johnson hit four three-pointer and was 6-6 from the line in the second half.
Randy Holmes had a 17-point, eight-rebound game for the Wildcats, while Moody scored all of his 14 points in the first half.
Bethune-Cookman meets North Carolina A&T Monday.
