DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman University's Alejandra Vidal was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player Of The Week while Jose Plazas was named Men's Rookie Of The Week, it was announced February 3, 2016.

Vidal, a sophomore from Maracaibo, Venezuela, compiled a 2-1 record in both singles and doubles during the Lady Wildcats' opening week of the 2016 spring season. The 2015 MEAC Tournament outstanding performer had two wins in Tuesday's victory at Embry-Riddle.

Plazas, a freshman from Bogota, Colombia, recorded a come-from behind victory in the deciding seventh match that lifted the Wildcats past Cambell 4-3 last Friday. He defeated Jonathan O'Neal 6-7, 6-4,6-4.

The Wildcat men are in Ft. Myers this weekend to face Florida Gulf Coast and Marquette while the Lady Wildcats meet FIU Sunday in DeLand.
