GREENSBORO, N.C. - Bethune-Cookman softball snapped its six-game losing streak as the Wildcats (7-24, 2-3) earned their first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) victories after taking down the North Carolina A&T Aggies 9-2 and 5-2 during doubleheader action at the Aggie Softball Complex.
Rookie outfielder Annie Bakenhus finished the day going 7-for-9 at the dish, heading the B-CU offense, while adding three doubles, two runs, two RBIs and a stolen base.
Preseason pitcher of the year, Sabrina Anguiano, picked up the game one victory on the mound after throwing 5.0 innings, allowing five hits, two earned runs, and striking out two batters.
Freshman hurler Deidra Genera started in the circle during game two, throwing 4.0 innings for the win, allowing four hits, one earned run and one walk, while fanning two N.C. A&T batters.
