Brandon Tabb Chosen to Preseason First Team All-MEAC

 
NORFOLK, Va. – Bethune-Cookman University Men's Basketball senior guard Brandon Tabb was selected to the Preseason First Team All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, as announced by the league office on Thurs., Oct. 26.
 
Tabb was named to the Second Team All-MEAC in 2016-17 when led the Wildcats in scoring with 17.8 points-per-game and totaled 570 points, the latter ranking fourth in the conference. He totaled 20 or more points in 17 games, with a season-high of 30 vs. Savannah State. Tabb also led the team with 174 rebounds and averaged 5.4 per-game. The Hampton, Va., native played and started in all 32 games and averaged of 34.3 minutes, which was seventh in the MEAC.
 
Tabb shot 37.9% from the field and 34.5% from three, with his 307 three-point attempts ranking fifth nationally and second in the MEAC. He averaged 3.3 made trifectas, good for ninth in the nation and also second in the MEAC.  The guard led the team and ranked second in the conference with an 82.6% free throw clip.
 
He also contributed on the defensive end by ranking fifth in the MEAC with 43 steals, and registered 19 blocks.
 
The coach's preseason poll was released as well, and the Wildcats were selected ninth out of 13 teams. Morgan State received the most first place votes (13) and total points (305) to sit atop the poll. Bear forward Phillip Carr was selected as the conference's Preseason Player of the Year.
