DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman looks to continue its winning ways Sunday when the Lady Wildcats host Southeastern Louisiana at 3 p.m. in Historic Moore Gymnasium.

The Lady Wildcats' 3-0 start is the program's best since the 1991-92 opened the season winning five straight.

This is the second year in row the teams have met. The Lions took a 75-63 decision last season in the final game of B-CU's five-game road trip that we're only going to say was a character building experience for a 15-1 run during Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play. SE Louisiana also won 69-59 waaaay back during the Reagan administration (1982-83).

After this, the Lady Wildcats make a quick road trip to Jacksonville Thursday to meet UNF, then play stay at home for four consecutive games – three on Sundays – and two in DeLand at the Hatter Classic.

B-CU UPDATE: The Lady Wildcats' current streaks: Regular season wins (12), home wins (7) and games with a three-pointer (126 dating back to 3/12/13 vs. Del State at MEAC tournament) … It's early, but B-CU is eighth in the nation in blocked shots per game (7.3), ninth in assists per game (21.3), tenth in fewest turnovers (43) and 11^th in scoring margin (+28) … And the Lady Cats are only three points and two percentage points away from the total defense and defensive field goal percentage that placed them eighth and second in the nation in last year's final stats… While Ashanti Hunt has fallen just of pulling an Ice Cube (getting a triple-double) in the last two games, she has posted career highs in rebounds (16 vs. FIU) and assists (nine vs. Prairie View A&M); she leads the MEAC in rebounding (10.0 per game) and assists (6.7) …Kanesha Battle is one of only 11 players left in Division I who hasn't missed a free throw. The sophomore is 12-12 so far. She's fifth in 3FG% at 66.7 percentage … Chasimmie Brown has reached double figure scoring in all three games.

ABOUT SE LOUISIANA: Under first-year coach Ayla Guzzardo, the Lions (0-5) are in the midst of a seven-game road trip to so far has included LSU, Cincinnati, Akron and Kent State …Senior guard Taylin Underwood is the leading scorer for the Lady Lions, averaging 18.2 points per game and needs Livingston, Louisiana native needs two three-point field goals to become the school's career leader in that category …  Caitlyn Williams is averaging 11.6 points and 6.8 rebounds … The Lions have forced 110 turnovers in five games.
