SEATTLE, Wash. – An incredible amount of travel obstacles did not slow the effort of Bethune-Cookman in the first half, but the University of Washington pulled away with a strong showing in the latter period as BCU fell 106-55 Tuesday night at Alaska Airlines Arena.
Isaiah Bailey led the Wildcats (5-8) with 16 points and was perfect on six free throw attempts. Brandon Tabb scored 11 off the bench.Â
The Huskies (9-3) went up 8-2 on a Noah Dickerson lay-in early in the game before BCU went on a 7-0 run to grab its first lead, 9-8, on a Shawntrez Davis put-back at 14:50.Â
BCU later almost erased a 13-point hole when Soufiyane Diakite converted a steal into a pair of points to make it a 35-34 ballgame with 3:08 remaining until halftime.Â
The second half was a different tale, as the hosts erupted for 63 points on 25-34 shooting and BCU shot only 6-30 from the floor. BCU out-rebounded Washington, 39-34. Dominic Green and David Crisp led Washington with 18 points and were two of six Huskies in double-figures.
BCU finishes its four-game road trip with a 9 p.m. ET start Friday, Dec. 22, at Washington State.Â
