BCU opened its season with a 73-46 victory over Edward Waters Wednesday, getting 18 points from Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Preseason Player Of The Year
Angel Golden and a 14-point, 13-rebound double-double from
Chasimmie Brown.
Last year, BCU had to go on the road to go 2-0, taking at 77-59 decision at FIU. The Lady Wildcats would go to beat Prairie View for 3-0 before falling to SE Louisiana.
This is Liberty's season opener. Like BCU, the Flames won 24 games last season, but they were able to sweep the Big South regular season and tournament titles for a trip to the NCAA tournament.
BCU and Liberty last met in 2002. The Flames lead the all-time series 3-1.
