@BCUHoops Opens #MEACbbt18 as Two Seed Wednesday

Wildcats play the winner of Tuesday's Morgan State/SC State game

NORFOLK, Va.- The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats (18-13, 12-4), one of three teams to claim a share of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference regular season title, play their first MEAC Tournament game Wednesday at 8 p.m. as the two seed at the Scope Arena. The Wildcats play the winner of Tuesday night's #7/#10 matchup of Morgan State/South Carolina State. The game will air on WELE 1380 The CAT and on ESPN3.

2 Isaiah Bailey has broken the 20-point mark seven times since the turn of the calendar, including a season-high 28 recently at Morgan State. In total, Bailey has reached double-figures in 22 consecutive outings, and in 28 of his 30 games played. His triple-double against Savannah State was the third in the Wildcat history books,and the only against Division 1 competition. Bailey's 168 made free throws is third in Wildcat single-season records just behind the 179 total from CJ Reed in 2011 while his 147 assists also sits fourth behind Tyris Livas' 161 in 2000

3 BCU enters as the #2 seed in the #MEACbbt18 after a share of its second-ever MEAC regular season title. Its first came in 2011, when the Wildcats went 13-3 in the conference and finished 21-13 for its first 20-win season since 1977

4 Brandon Tabb ranks in the MEAC's top 5 in four three-point statistical categories- 3ptFGA (279), 3ptFGM (96), 3ptFG per-game (3.31), and 3ptFG % (34.1%). He is 13 made three's away from passing Freddie Cole's 214 (1996-00) for second all-time in Wildcat history. He is on pace to surpass Owen Harris' (1968-71) .842 career free throw percentage with his .879 mark. His 96 made three-pointers and 279 attempts are second in single-season history behind his 2017 totals of 106 makes in 307 tries

5 New Head Coach Ryan Ridder already has tied for the most wins of a Wildcat Head Coach in his first season of BCU's Division 1 era with 18, matching Gravelle Craig's mark 2011-12. The 18 wins also ties the second-highest total in D1 history. The record belongs to 2011's 21 victories

Soufiyane Diakite never missed from the field en route to a career-best 27 points and pulled in 14 rebounds to lead Bethune-Cookman to its second Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title with an 89-77 triumph at rival Florida A&M Thursday night at the Al Lawson Center.

on Mar. 1. The Brooklyn, N.Y. native went a perfect 13-13 in field goal shooting that included one trey. He stands as the only player in the NCAA this season to make
every attempt with at least 13 tries, and his efficiency mark set a new BCU program record
