TALLAHASSEE -- Juan Diego Ruiz won his No. 5 singles match and combined with
Juan Navarro on a doubles victories as Bethune-Cookman concluded its regular season at Florida A&M.
The Wildcats (4-9 overall, 2-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) will be the No. 3 seed from the South Division at the MEAC tournaments in two weeks. The Rattlers (5-10,3-1) will be the No. 2 seed.
Ruiz improved to 4-9 in singles play and 4-5 in doubles play with his two victories.
Florida A&M won a doubles points that went to the bitter end as
Jose Plazas and
Victor Bravo fell 7-6 at No. 1 singles.
Plazas and
David Ocampo took their matches to three sets.
B-CU returns to the MEAC tournament after posting a 1-18 record last season.
